Describes the <strong>context of smaller cities<\/strong> (building on the detailed insights of D1.1 Market Analysis), highlighting their key challenges and strengths, including recognising regional variances.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>ii. Discusses the <strong>involvement of smaller cities in European Commission city<\/strong> <strong>initiatives<\/strong>, specifically considering the actions of the Smart City Marketplace and Climate-Neutral Smart Cities Mission. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>iii. Summarises the <strong>state-of-the-art concerning the development of the Mobility<\/strong> <strong>Island<\/strong> concept within a varied group of SMCs around Europe, highlighting the key learning from these activities. Further detail is provided in D5.2 \u2018Mobility Island Proof Point\u2019. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>iv. Introduces a \u2018<strong>Roadmap to NetZero for SMCs<\/strong>\u2019 as a pragmatic basis to support their transition across a breadth of topics and measures through building capacity, collaboration, and the use of practical free-at-point-of-use methods and tools. In that respect, the report is a key component of the SMCNetZero capacity building programme.
